Below is a report written by some of the football team that stormed to success this week, winning the 'Under 11 Utilita Kids Cup, held by the Peterborough United Foundation.'

On the 28th November, 22 teams arrived at Nene Park Academy.  Nene Valley's first game was against William OHair and we came out on top with a 2-0 win.  A great start!  The winning streak carried on throughout most of the group stage.  But it all changed in the last game, where Nene Valley drew 0-0.  We got through as we had won more games.

However, in the semi-final we won, 2-0, with both Dexter and Josh scoring. Moving to the final, Nene Valley struggled to find the net and so did Southfield.  Eventually, the game went to penalties.  

Nene Valley scored the first and Southfield replied with a first goal.  Dexter then scored the second Nene Valley penalty. Southfield stepped to shoot, it was going top corner, but somehow Zac kept it out.  Jake smashed home a third penalty.  Nene Valley were almost winners.  Zac saved another penalty and the team went wild.  Nene Valley had won.
